The 安保巡逻机器人 F2 twin page retargets the same chassis numbers to commercial security. Foreign private buyers should compare that commercial framing—and Western alternatives—rather than assuming a Chinese police SKU is the right contract vehicle.

Designer Wang You (Zhejiang University; Rotunbot founder) described motor-driven internal pendulum control, amphibious sealed operation, about 10 hours or 120 km endurance, glass-fiber-reinforced polymer shell, operation down to −30 °C, and impact-resistance claims up to 4 tonnes with 1 m drop tolerance.

People’s Daily Online (27 Feb 2025) names the model RT-G, repeats Wenzhou Lucheng patrol context, quotes 160 kg and 10-hour endurance, and cites 35 km/h in 2.5 seconds—so speed figures in English state media conflict. Keep both citations and confirm with Rotunbot before locking a spec table.

Promo clips referenced in Xinhua also show coordinated pursuit concepts and tools such as net guns. Separate staged promo capability from what a city has actually fielded on a nightly route.

Shenzhen Government Online (21 Feb 2025) reported EngineAI’s PM01 humanoid on routine patrol with officers at MixC World in Nanshan. The city page lists PM01 at 1.38 m tall and 40 kg, with 320-degree waist rotation, and notes EngineAI (founded 2023) had unveiled multiple humanoid models.

Photos on that government page show the robot in police gear walking with officers—useful evidence of a public demo program, not proof of autonomous enforcement or citywide fleet scale.

Secondary outlets have repeated business/education price chatter around tens of thousands of yuan. This page does not treat those secondary price figures as confirmed MSRP until EngineAI’s own store or quote sheet is the primary source.

For pavement coverage with published multi-hour endurance and docks, F2-class wheeled robots remain the more documented patrol product. Treat PM01 as a named humanoid demo to watch, not as a drop-in replacement for F2 route math.

Quadrupeds Used In Security-Style Roles

DEEP Robotics publishes the X30 for security among other industrial jobs, with IP67, 56 kg, 2.5–4 hour endurance, ≥10 km patrol range, and stair/obstacle figures aimed at harsh sites. That is the quadruped to shortlist when plaza tiles are not the route.

Unitree Go2 editions from $1,600 make the silhouette common in education and viral clips. Unitree labels Go2 a civilian robot. Heavier industrial Unitree dogs need a sales path and should not be budgeted from the AIR sticker.

What These Police Robots Can And Cannot Do

Named Chinese police robots stream video, play announcements, and push alerts. F2’s manufacturer page lists planned patrol routes, key-person monitoring claims, SOS help, license-plate features, and remote consultation. Those are product claims to verify in a pilot, not courtroom autonomy.

Physical response and legal authority stay with officers. A robot without a human escalation path is a mobile sensor node.

Ask what is recorded, where it is stored, who can replay it, how long it lives, and whether face-recognition features can be disabled before any foreign pilot. Privacy law outside China often decides the purchase before the chassis does.

Strong deployments define alert classes, response owners, and false-positive handling before the first public route. Weak deployments drown operators in noise until the machine becomes background decoration.

• Map each alert class to a human owner and response target.
• Test night vision / thermal options on the real route.
