EMO vs Loona: Which to Buy

Living.ai's EMO is the cheaper pick for a desk, and KEYi Tech's Loona is the pricier pick for a floor-roaming pet. At The Bot Scout, we have not tested either robot, so our EMO vs Loona pick rests on what Living.ai and KEYi Tech publish.

EMO White was listed at $289.00 on the Living.ai shop when we checked in October 2026. Living.ai says EMO navigates your desktop "without ever falling off", so it is built to stay up on a desk or table. Pick EMO if you want the robot beside you while you sit.

Loona's listed price varies by edition. KEYi's Loona price guide lists the Premium bundle at $499, and KEYi's product page lists the Loona Petbot Space Edition at $699.00. Loona drives on wheels around the floor and returns to its dock on its own, so pick Loona if you want a robot that moves around the room and charges itself.

Skip EMO if you have no desk or table for it, because EMO is a desk robot and stays there. Skip Loona if $499 is past your budget. That is the lowest Loona price on the KEYi pages we checked.

Our answer would flip toward Loona if a child is the main user, because KEYi markets Loona to families with kids and Living.ai states no age for EMO. It would tilt toward EMO if the $699.00 Space Edition became the only Loona on sale, against $289.00 for EMO White.

Side-by-Side Specs for EMO vs Loona

Living.ai leaves more blanks than KEYi Tech does: EMO has no published battery runtime, recommended age or subscription terms. EMO uses a high-definition (HD) camera with face recognition, and KEYi lists Loona's camera as 720P.

Loona runs on a 1350 milliampere-hour (mAh) battery that KEYi rates for 2 hours of continuous playtime. Every price in the table is a snapshot from October 2026, so confirm the live figure on the Living.ai shop and on KEYi's Loona page before you buy.

Living.ai EMO on the Desk

EMO is a desk robot that Living.ai says "expertly navigates your desktop without ever falling off."

EMO's HD camera handles face recognition, and Living.ai says EMO can recognize up to 10 people and objects. Plan who and what you want EMO to know within that limit.

A touch sensor sits on EMO's head, and EMO also carries a 4-microphone array.

EMO charges wirelessly on its skateboard, and Living.ai says the same skateboard can charge a phone.

Living.ai does not publish EMO's battery runtime, a recommended age, or any subscription on the pages we checked. If any of those decide your purchase, ask Living.ai through the EMO product page before you order. Our full Living.ai EMO review covers EMO on its own in more detail.

KEYi Tech Loona on the Floor

Loona is a petbot that drives on wheels around the floor, according to KEYi Tech.

KEYi lists a 720P camera and a 1350 mAh battery with "2 hours of continuous playtime." Loona returns to its dock automatically, so you do not have to carry it back to charge.

KEYi's price guide lists the Loona Petbot Premium bundle at $499, and that bundle includes the petbot, a charging dock and a game prop kit. Themed bundles are listed at $548. KEYi's product page lists a new Loona Petbot Space Edition at $699.00, so check which edition a quoted price refers to.

KEYi's guide says Loona "currently does not require a mandatory monthly subscription" for its core experience. The same guide warns that connected AI services can change. Before you buy, reread the subscription section of KEYi's Loona price guide so you know the policy on the day you pay.

KEYi describes Loona as ideal for "families with kids" but lists no official age. If you want to see Loona next to other robot pets, read our comparison of Loona and other companion robots.

Space and Household Fit

We have not run EMO or Loona in a home, so these household-fit calls are our judgment from the published specs. Match each robot to the room it will live in.

If you sit at one desk for most of the day, EMO stays where you are. It lives on the desk and charges wirelessly on its skateboard, so it needs only desk space and no floor space.

If your household spends its time in a shared living room, Loona fits better, because it drives around the floor and docks itself. Plan for open floor space and a fixed spot for the charging dock before Loona arrives.

Our judgment is that a robot moving across a shared floor is harder to ignore than one that stays on a desk.

KEYi markets Loona to families with kids, and Living.ai states no age for EMO. If a dog or cat roams your floor, ask KEYi Tech through the Loona product page how Loona handles other pets before you buy.

Total Cost of EMO vs Loona

EMO costs less up front at every listed price point. The Living.ai shop listed EMO White at $289.00 and the EMO GO HOME White bundle at $379.00 in October 2026. Check the Living.ai shop listing before you choose the bundle over EMO White.

KEYi's price guide lists the Loona Premium bundle at $499 and themed bundles at $548. The $499 bundle includes the petbot, a charging dock and a game prop kit, so you do not need to buy those accessories separately. KEYi's product page lists the Space Edition at $699.00, so ask KEYi through the Space Edition product page what it adds before you choose it.

Even the $499 Loona Premium bundle is listed above the $379.00 EMO GO HOME White bundle. Neither total includes a subscription, because KEYi says Loona needs no mandatory monthly subscription for its core experience and Living.ai publishes no subscription terms for EMO.
